Ever since I learned about the old Fernald system, I have become really interested in it for some reason. Can you guys give me as much info as possible of the system? That would be great

I believe they originally installed about 10 EOWS 1212s in 1986. Then I think it was sometime in the early 90s when they were all tied into Hamilton County's system. One of the 1212s was on a water tower at the plant, and disappeared when the water tower disappeared. Probably in the late 90s or early 2000s, a 612 was installed at the old site of the plant. The last few years, these sirens have really malfunctioned a lot. Somehow, one of them was removed sometime in 2008, and I wonder if maybe it got blown down from the wind storm we had that year from Hurricane Ike. In 2009, the three in Ross Township were removed and replaced with T-128s. The rest were replaced with T-128s in late 2011 or early 2012, and if any of them are still standing, I doubt they're even active anymore.
Resident of a county with big a mixture of sirens, but in the process of being replaced. :(

Do you know what tones they used?

I know they first used Westminster Chimes when they installed the very first one, but I'm not quite sure what the plant used after that and for warning people, though I wanna say that they may have used alternate steady and/or wail. But being in Hamilton County's system, they were only used in alert.

I thought I heard somewhere it was pulsed wail but I guess I was wrong.

It could've been pulsed.

Were you getting things mixed up with this (old!) video of them working on one of the 1212s?

I recorded one of the 1212s during the monthly test several years ago. It did the usual alert signal, but when it was time for attack, it sounded the alert signal again.
