It used to be a toll bridge, but in the 90's, the cost of the bridge was paid off and the toll gates were removed. The bridge at Hood River and the Bridge of the Gods at Cascade Locks still have tolls. Those, as well as the bridges around San Francisco Bay, are about the only bridges in the West which collect tolls.

Criminal mischief charges? I thought it's a federal offense to set off a warning siren without permission?

that may not be true anymore since the discontinuation of Civil Defense. even with the nastiness going on in Ukraine right now, it's highly unlikely anyone is going to start slinging nukes around.

Nope... Nowhere... Anywhere specific near the bridge and the harbor? Street view only goes so far and picking a thunderbolt out of a bunch of light poles on the regular view is quite the job... I may end up calling astoria again if nobody knows and just try to kind of pick a way. Maybe they can give me addresses of the sirens they have and i could find it a bit easier... But I am going to find this thing!!! The only pic of it is them lifting off the roof right?
Own and love a Thunderbolt 1000 and a Model 5.

I have many hobbies and interests. And I love them all.

Of course, I haven't been to Astoria in several years. It is a four-hour drive from where I live. It may have been removed like the Thunderbolts in Waldport after only a few years in service. Astoria may have had a siren hidden inside the cupola of the courthouse, but it wouldn't be the Corvallis siren.

It's a Cold War era idea known as "M.A.D. Principle"
