They did not finish the installation yesterday, but they are finishing it today. There will be a video shortly afterwards, I presume.

Thanks Jim, we put a lot of hard work into our sirens.

The fire department is keeping the old Model 7 to put on display at The Rock Ranch. After we get done with the tbolts I'll restore the 7 and it will spend the rest of it's life next to the first fire truck the city of thomaston bought, a 1927 American Lafrance.

From the Upson EMA page:

Upson Emergency Management Agency
The City of Thomaston Fire Dept's original fire siren has been in use for many years as the City of Yatesville's outdoor warning siren. This Saturday, at the noon hour, that siren will sound its final tones for 3 minutes. Immediately after that, Yatesville's new outdoor warning siren, a refurbished 1962 Thundebolt recovered from Norman, OK this past summer, will take over warning duties, sounding for three minutes.

As the original siren is decommissioned, it will be restored and placed along side 'Molly', Thomaston's original fire engine. Both of these pieces of local history will be on display in Truett's Barn at The Rock Ranch.

Y'all come out Saturday to Yatesville, and witness this small piece of local history.

Aw man, that's cool. It's good to see that Upson cares for it's sirens, unlike certain counties...

Yeah Cory it would be awesome to have you there. The EMA would like to meet someone from Norman who helped us get these pigs loaded up and hauled back home. If you are flying your plane Upson County has an airport over by The Rock. After the test we will be removing the old Model 7.

So far the board members that will be there are:
Me
Ian
DJ226
Justin
TNT1001 (maybe)
Christopher J.
