Yesterday I had some free time in Atlanta, so I went on a siren hunt. Sorry I dont know the model numbers of the Modulators. Thank you Brenan W for the locations.

Excellent photos. The Mods are, in order, a 3012, 2008, 3012, 3012. The naming scheme is as such:

X0YY1

Where:

X = Number of active cells (the bottom cell is a dummy cell to complete the horn and has no drivers, so it doesn't count)

Y = Number of drivers (the number of drivers is the number of active cells x 4 except for the 6032 and 6048, and you can tell the 6048 apart because it has two controllers. Otherwise, there's 4-100 watt drivers per cell, hence the active cells x 4).

1 = If there's no letter here, its the original Mod. If there's a B here, its a Mod II.

Thanks for the info. I used a Fujifilm Finepix S-4800 to take the photos. I heard that there was also a modulator somewhere near where Termin (an old dorm that was torn down) once stood. I go to Atlanta usually every month so if you have more locations PM me. Thanks :D

Try not to go when they are in school because one parent looked like she wanted to call the cops on us .

I stopped by it during school hours, but nobody cared. I tried to get photos, but my camera died.

Nice photos though.

Next time I go down I will try to get pictures of the whelen sirens in Decatur. Later I will show you some photos of a mystery loudspeaker that I found on a building near the Fish Hawk.

Nice photos. I lived in the Atlanta area from 1971-89(Cobb County). However, I was on the Emory campus a number of times. There was a Tbolt on the campus back then; it was just off Clifton Rd. if I remember correctly. It would've been removed when DeKalb dismantled its system of Tbolts and sold them to Cobb County.

To backe Melvin's words, the emory Tbolt was somewhere in the vicinity of Clifton and Fishburne. Since Dekalb left a "signature" pole with the blower pipe on it at the old siren locations, I would not be surprised if there is one somewhere in that area.

My dad said that the tbolt at Emory was at Fishburne Hall. My mom also recalls seeing it and hearing it during a tornado warning.
