The Mohawk/Niagra Special... Thunderbolt 1000 sirens painted either grey or a really nasty shade of olive green (think prison wall green/gray).

They have a mixture of old ACA sirens and newer ASC Sirens with ASC Controls. They are standardizing on T-128s on steel poles with ASC Controls.

Not so sure about that Richard, here are a few examples of the old system:

Scriba, NY Borough Building:

Mexico, NY (by a sub-station.. showing that nasty grey-green LOL)

You are probably thinking of Ginnia up in the Rochester area, they have older ACA sirens

You are correct I am thinking GINNA.

We are installing T-128s at Nine Mile this year. Just working out the RF details now.

I wonder if there's a map of some of the 9 mile siren locations?

I have gps cords for all existing locations. New sites will be similar wherever possible but those details are still being finalized.

I was thinking the same thing, I live only 30 miles from nine mile, so I could possibly snag one if I wanted. Unfortunately, those sirens are nuclear plant property, so I would imagine that would be a big NO. I Don't even know where I would keep one, let alone use it for. I could put one back in service at my firehouse as a fire siren, That would be AWESOME, but we haven't had an audible since our old diaphone got disconnected back in about 2000 due to complaints, and I am sure our neighbors would be a PITA about us putting a siren up.
