I was out taking pictures of fire trucks on Saturday and happened to stop by the Martin State Airport which is a 3/4 civilian and 1/4 Air Force, the fire department is on the Air Force side and I happened to take notice to all of the shiney new Whelen sirens that were put up. Than I got thinking about ALL of those shiny new Whelens and realized, this was freaking rediculous.... have a look at the two pictures below... they were taken standing in the exact same spot... the first one is looking to my left and the second is looking to my right. Unbelievable in my book, what say all of you fine folks??
It seems that AFB's like the ridiculous coverage. I know Buckley in Aurora CO has a bunch of Whelens close together. Tinker has a bunch of MOD5020's, and Altus, Vance and Ft Sill have ATI.
Langley AFB is another example. They have two pairs of Modulator 6024s that are just under 2000 feet from each other. I haven't actually tried it, but I think there are areas where you can look in two different directions and see Mods in the distance. Kind of spooky, actually.

That's exactly how Langley uses their Mods 99% of the time.
