Don't ask how; there is no rhyme nor reason to it. I don't know how they got their hands on one, or if they have the whole thing, but yes. Believe it or not, it has no effect on the sound of it (I used to think that only the lower half would be heard).

Not sure if my siren would be considered mounted low. It's only about 15-20 feet off the ground. It is taller than the peak of my roof though so the sound carries well.
