Is that a siren with custom housing or something else?

It's one of those lion king signal sirens. I think it is the VES-145. Here it is going off:

Ah yes, that Model 5. It's on my Southside Virginia priority list...and was also variously identified as an STH-10 and even a 2001 (?!) before that imagery went up. Here it is sounding for a fire call.

You have to admit, it kind of sounds like its pushing a little on the SRN side in pitch.

While searching for sirens in random small towns in Ohio today, I found this: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.903857, ... e0!6m1!1e1

For those on mobile: A tower with a Model 2 about 8-10 feet off the ground and a Model 5 above it about 15 feet or so off the ground. I have no idea if the 2 is active. If I ever get a chance I'll drive up there and get a picture of them as Verona (Ohio) is only a little over an hour from here.

Not sure if I've posted the Vortex at Jefferson Fire Department yet, but it's in a valley. Everything is uphill directly behind the camera.

I have seen the model 2 here before while driving through the town. Not sure if it is active or not. It has been at least 4 months since I last seen it. It's about a 45 min drive for me.

I think this Model 2 in Gibson, GA is a good contender for this.
