Sentry 3V8H Install

Wed Jun 11, 2014 11:36 am

Lastly, here is a Sentry we installed at the Roosevelt Rehab Institute in Warm Springs, GA. They originally purchased this siren from Sirens for Cities back in 2012 and decided to install it this year. So they chose us to install it for them on a 55 foot pole. This is the first siren I've ever put up that I didn't have to spend a month overhauling beforehand.

How do they plan on testing it? I would love to get some video of it, being that Warm Springs is up the road from here.

Not sure when they test. They also have another 3v8 and a model 5 on campus, plus a dead 612 that was zapped by lightning.

There's also a 5T in "downtown" Warm Springs. A 612? That's a surprise.

A 612 you say? The siren and I have a similar story when it comes to lightning... except I'm alive and the siren... well, yeah. Where on the campus are the siren located? I see the spot where the 3V8H was installed.

It's on the Vocational Dormitory. Here is a map I threw together for Warm Springs. The town is also allegedly getting 3 2001s.

I haven't heard anything about 3 2001s.

Danke. Next time I go up that way I'll see about taking some pictures. I'm especially interested in seeing a 612 for the first time. I wonder how bad the damage is. I cringed at the though of more 2001s being put up around here. Darn we need to see some 508s down here.

From what I was told the 612 will only do chime and rotate it. Maintenance director told me the repair price for it was astronomical so it was cheaper to buy another siren.

As for the 2001s, I wouldn't be surprised to see more Sentry sirens go up in that county. Woodbury has a 16V1TB and Lone Oak has a 10V or 7V8 (can't remember which). Only 2001 in the county that I'm aware of is the one in Manchester.

Bitte, mein freund.

I may have to swing by there too if I ever plan on going to check out that infantry museum at Ft. Benning. Which is something I may be intrigued by. I plan on joining the USMC when I'm older anyway (sorry to hijack the thread!)
