Thunderbolt 1003's in Ohio

Mon Dec 06, 2010 11:56 pm

The only 1003's I know in Ohio are the Mount Healthy Fire Dept. and Bowling Green Campus (The one next to a STH-10).

Are there any other 1003's in Ohio?

The one at BGSU is the only one I know of in North West Ohio... One or two might turn up as I finish my siren maps for counties around my area. I know theres certainly none in Lucas County...

I was scrolling through the archives and found This 1003 in West Jefferson, Ohio. West Jefferson is in Madison County just outside of the Columbus area. Its still there on Google Maps but is kind of difficult to see. You should be able to see the solenoid boxes sticking out in the middle of the page. If theres more on the Archive, I'll edit this post.

EDIT:
There is one more on the archive, This 1003 is from Bowling Green, Ohio; in Wood County. Unfortunately, I've found the Location but not the siren. The siren might be the one that is located on top of the building on the BGSU campus since its only a stones throw away from this spot...

UPDATE: BG Thunderbolts & 3T22B
There used to be a 1003 on Clough St near University Pond
Poe Rd near Haskins Rd (near Wood Co Fairgrounds); replaced by a 2001
Sand Ridge near Gypsy Ln
BGSU (near Paul J Olscamp Hall)
& a 3T22B that used to be at N. Main & Parkview (near Kroger; not sure if its still Kroger or became HEB by now?) (I aquired that 3T22 in late 2002)
There was also a model 5 or 7 near the Wood County Courthouse; but had been removed in early '90s
Darley STH-10? used to be on top of BGPD building; removed around 1982-83? Maybe before 1982-83? I think it had been moved to Weston; used to be on Weston's water tower

CURRENT SIRENS IN BG:
2001s:
N. Dixie Hwy & Bishop Rd
Newton Rd & Haskins Rd (BG Community Ctr)
Poe Rd & Haskins Rd
W. Gypsy Ln & S. Maple St
E. Gypsy Ln & Dunbridge Rd (near Wood Lane)
N. Dunbridge near Research Dr
Napoleon Rd & S. College Ave
Conneaut & Mitchell Rd

STH-10s:
BGSU Paul J. Olscamp Hall
BGSU Maintenance Building (Poe Rd)

I don't know if there are more STH-10s & 2001s in BG? Is the 2001 at Campbell Hill Rd still there? This list is/was current when I last lived/visited BG back in 2009; not sure if those sirens have been relocated by now?
Proud owner of two 2T22s & a 3T22; & might acquire a roundback 2001 soon
