Lol... "Hear better. Look how old they are..." It's funny because newer methods like local news cell phone news and blah blah (Like what we use in some counties here in Oregon) Are less than effective. Newer sirens are alright but the HOR was an attention getter. The devils note (Tri tone, Diminished fifth etc... etc...) was really a unique thing about it. I will be honest though I wont be too mad if it ends up in a museum or in the hands of one of us on here. I would be super enraged if they just scrapped them.

What's funny is that that thing has been sitting atop that building for over 60 years and it's working perfectly. Of course it might grow some rust and all but you should only work on fixing em' if they're broken. "Look how old it is!" it's not like anyone ever notices them except for us siren enthusiasts, so look shouldn't matter anyways. I'd give a newer siren almost 10 years until it needs some maintenance.

I hope it either:
  • Gets relocated within the county/neighboring county(s)
Ends up in a siren collector's home
    Put in museum
& NOT junk the H. O. R. for any reason
