No, it's a single speed gearbox not a 4 speed Muncie.

On another note, what's the purpose of the disc? To reflect the sound in one direction like thunderbolts, of does it produce the noise?

The disk is supposed to send the sound in a concentrated direction like a rotational siren, but it acts more omnidirectional than anything else. (Although it is effective)

It seems as if the disc assembly is just loosely riding on the gearbox, so that would probably explain as to why it turns properly until the chopper winds up to a certain speed, assuming the increasing suction sends the disc spinning the other way. :?: I wouldn't imagine the disc alone to be that heavy and difficult to turn by air movement. Could it be that there is a wind-load clutch between the housing box and the gear set that lost tension after a while?
