Lots of equipment had the CD emblem back in the height of the cold war. I think it had to do with civil defense funding but I'm not really sure.

We had a Motorola Twin V in our 1951 Mack engine but it was scrapped when the (relatively) newer GE MASTR Pro was installed. Thanks for sharing.

....Those Civil Defense stickers where applied by someone other than Motorola....the only 2-way radios that I am familiar with that where manufactured for "Civil Defense" use w/ a Civil Defense sticker on the front panel was the Gonset Communicator units.....2m w/ an optional 75-40-20-15 and 10 meter Amateur band unit available also.
