Poorly Maintained Sirens??

Does this model 5 located at Buckhead Ridge Fire Department count? It has a few rust holes in the housing.

This one is in Decatur, IN. That's Aaron holding it's antenna cable which had came loose from the antenna and was just dangling there from the box. As of 2 weeks ago it's fixed and up and running again.

Some of the disconnected sirens here in the PNW are in pretty bad shape... Poor things.

Hehe, that wooden board on one of those 2001's sure looks like something I would think of.
In all seriousness though, those older gen 2001's rust like crazy. They should probably just buy some enclosures and put everything In the old cabinets into them. That is disappointing.

Personally I wouldn't call those sirens poorly maintained, at least they care and are trying to keep them up. That is a bit different, but at least they care.

We've all seen our share of them, I was just wondering if you folks have any examples of poorly maintained sirens around your area. It's not uncommon to find the sirens here fairly rusted, especially by the ocean. The extremely high pitched 1000T I filmed has a bunch of holes on the bottom of the horn that you can't see in the video.

However, this one one has to be the worst one I've seen in Hawaii.




That plant on top seems to be growing pretty well!

Yep. We got a new EMA director in 2012 and that's who these repairs were done under the supervision of. Turns out as of a month ago that guy is gone and we now have another new EMA director. I can only hope now that repairs will be done the right way.

A few years ago one of the SRNs got hit by a car and while the concrete pole didn't budge, the boxes were totaled. That's the only one I know of that has the newer style stainless steel boxes. That's also the only repair I can think of in this county that isn't half a$$ed.

This one ain't too bad, but this Xt22 in Wagoner, OK seems to have some bent up horns:
