Sentry's New Horns For 8 and 16 Port Sirens

ok...I have got one final statement/question. When I searched the 5v on google images, it looked exactly like the 3v8. I don't wan't to cause trouble, I am just trying to point out the facts

They definitely share the same shape, but the 5V is larger in size, output, and horsepower. The 5V I believe used a 7.5HP motor, but I am not 100% sure. It DID, however, use the rotor/stator from the M-10/10V/etc. The 3V8 has a smaller rotor/stator on it.... These are definitely two very different sirens. the 7V8 is what replaced the 5V, from what I understand.

You can probably still get a skirted 10V if you wanted, or a skirted 7V, and that would be about as close to the original 5V as you could get.

Both of these pictures are mine...you can pretty easily tell how much taller the rotor is on the 5V than the smaller 3V8.

Incorrect. Look at the pictures I posted. 3V8 =/= 5V. Like very obviously different. This isn't even in the same ballpark as the FS 5/7, 7T/SD-10 differences debate (of which I assure you there are none) these are two visibly and easily proven two different models of siren.

The 5V8 originally used a 7 ½ Hp motor. Back in the early 80’s when motor ratings were changed the siren was renamed the 7V8. Prior to this the 2V8 used a 1.5 hp motor and was upgraded to a 3 hp motor and the 3V8 was born. In the early 80’s the 3 hp motor was upgraded to a 5 hp motor, but the name was never changed. (The 8 in the model number signified 8 ports). The rotor and stator are not the same size in all of the Sentry line with the exception of the 3V8 and 3V8-H.
The first number in the model number is the motor Hp. (3V8 and 3V8-H excluded.) The V in the model number stands for vertical. (Sits vertical on the base.) 1T or 2T in the model number stands for single tone or dual tone. All of Sentry’s 2 tier sirens are available in single or dual tone as per customer requests. Skirts instead of horns are available on all of Sentry’s as well.

Speaking of the 3v8-H, here is the tag on a 3v8-H we installed early this year. The college electrician thought that it was only three horsepower and spec'd out too small of a circuit and wire size for it, which had to be corrected before the siren was installed.
