It is with great pleasure to announce I have found the locations of Windsor, Ontario's two Chrysler-Bell Victory Air Raid Sirens as well as images of them!
The first Chrysler siren was located on Partington Avenue and Tecumseh Boulevard
The second Chrysler siren was located within Stodgell Park
While I was there I also saved images of an article on air raid shelters in Downtown Windsor.
Many other sirens were located throughout Windsor/Essex County but I will go back to the Library on Wednesday to look some more.
Another thing to note is that the city archives had NOTHING on sirens. All this information was availiable in the Library itself.
Earlier today I visited the Windsor Public Library on Ouellette Street in Windsor and the staff at the location showed me old newspaper articles using a machine that allows you to see old newspaper articles from the Windsor Star off of a film roll.
I have saved images of those articles as well as the sirens and will attach them below!
Enjoy!
