Uniquely Iowa

Mon Jul 27, 2015 1:52 am

Took a series of photos today while out running around with my son on another of our "Siren Hunts." Saw what I consider to be extremely unique set-ups in some of the small towns north and east of Des Moines! Feedback, as always, is welcomed

That's an ACA Penetrator, not a Howler. The Howlers have a shorter, cube-ish rear. On the other hand, nice finds! Not every day you see a little Champion.

The way the Penetrator is mounted is interesting. I wonder why they used two poles instead of one. Nice find with the Darley Champion.

I stand corrected...a Penetrator! Thanks for the clarification...I too was intrigued by the unique manner in which that siren was mounted. Also thought it was interesting to see a Thunderbolt only 20-25 feet above ground. Aren't they normally higher up?
