Up until about 5-10 years ago, it peaked at the normal speed. And then, it was suddenly very muted sounding, and you couldn't hear it inside the house across the street. And then, they took the siren down and apparently fixed it, resulting in the way it now sounds. It is still very loud, but not quite as loud as it was originally. The neighbor, who doesn't know anything about sirens, thought the siren broke and they got a new one that wasn't quite as loud, but still did the job well. I know it's the same siren. It's not single phase-3 phase with a rotary phase converter. Maybe something went wrong and they fixed it, but accidentally wired it backwards?

In the previous responses that I have given you and from what I can kind of remember reading from both Mister Holler and Mister Murrfarms on videos of sirens that have an identical situation, I think the start capacitors stay in a little too long and shut off with the run capacitors and causing the burp. (Am I understanding that right?) and as with the top end it might be that the rotary phase converter is giving the power a bit of a hit or maybe the brushes (Right?), bearings, wiring or otherwise may not have been installed right (My thunderbolt ends up alternating pitches and burping at the top end if the disconnects aren't firmly contacting both wires) and they could have wired it backwards. Few different possibilities.
Own and love a Thunderbolt 1000 and a Model 5.

I have many hobbies and interests. And I love them all.

I'm think it's lightning damage, I don't know. Maybe when it was taken down for repairs, they put the wrong kind of motor on it?

I honestly don't even know if they're even aware it sounds slower than it should. If so, they probably don't care. I also think it could be something with the phase converter. I was in Philomont yesterday and the whistle went off while I was there, so I got another video.

Yes, I am just still a little unsure what that siren's deal is.

It sounds cool, but it also sounds wrong. The first thing I thought of was the Allertor pretending to be a cow.
I kind of like the sirens that sound unique, like the raspy 3T22B

You have already answered that question yourself. It's on a rotary phase converter that needs some new capacitors.

Do we have to reanswer this question every 6 months? You ask the same thing on FB all the time.

I don't really want to have to be "that guy", but like Jeb said above, it seems to me your question about what is wrong with this siren has been answered numerous times, and it is starting to get repetitive. I understand you were recently "un-banned" with the ban amnesty program, and it doesn't look like you are off to a good start. I think it is disrespectful to Logan, whom came up with the idea, and all of the other mods who agreed to give you a second chance and yet you are not acknowledging what they did for you.

Ok, I understand. I have stopped with a lot of the nonsense I used to do though, believe me.
