I remember seeing that off of the highway. Stopped and snapped it.

My grandparents live there. I was going to see if I could record it but Crawford Co. Never tests. Probably see if it's a nooner.

They never had a siren at the Hartstown station so they decided to build a mount for it, here is the end result (with another Ebay purchase shown, a Duplex/Emergency One Tanker they bought from somewhere in Alaska)... pretty sure this is not where I want to be during a fire call. Actually having had an altercation with the former chief of this department, I don't want to be there even if there is no call but that is for another topic LOL

I swear, you drag up some of the most unusual siren things on this board...

I feel the same way, but isn't it fun when I drag these things up? LOL

That to me is an ugly pole.

Still wondering why they have three sirens.

I don't know if this would be considered low mounted, but here is a Model L? & Sterling 2V8 located in Stockton, UT:

When I was on vacation, I went to Pottsville, Pennsylvania for a tour of the Yuengling brewery, and on my way there I saw a roof-mounted Allertor/Mobil-Directo on a fire station.

I found it on street view:

Even though it isn't low-mounted, what you have there is a rare B&N Mobil Directo!

Here is a video of said Mobil-Directo/Allertor "Hybrid" from a good while ago, which used to be up on the department's webpage for a while. It was rebuilt after the original steel housing had pretty well rotted away, at which time the department managed to find a later-model fiberglass Allertor housing from somewhere and replaced the old steel housing with it. Yes, it's a 10/12 dual tone model and yes, it also rotates incredibly fast after the rebuild (belt pulleys probably got swapped around by accident).

Side note: if the video link doesn't work let me know so I can put it elsewhere and link to it.

Ditto. I want to see this MD/Allertor hybrid in action.
Owner of no sirens currently, but is looking to purchase and restore sirens for communities needing them.
