Model A Issue

for those who owned a Model A siren. My red/black one has been acting up where i plug it in and it just sits in silence. I spin the rotor and it starts up, also when it does the pitch goes all over the place. Assuming its brushes, and this motor has the black plastic cover on it. How easy is it to pop that off and change the brushes?

The little black plastic caps on the steel case motor? Or the solid black metal case motor?

I'm fairly certain those motors are soldered together. I've tried many times to take one of those apart and it just won't budge.

ah ok, was hopin there would be a way to take it apart, guess il leave it be until it totally dies and will no longer work

I think it's the bearings are going bad. Try to put WD-40 on the bearings and see if it would fix the problem.

could you show us a picture of the motor?

That motor is two steel halves pressed together. It's a royal PITA to get apart and put back together, and the brush holder design is terrible.
