Murphysboro, IL sirens (large photos)

Fri Oct 09, 2015 12:28 am

After months of school work and work its self I finally got the time to make it over to Murphysboro to photograph their "restored" sirens. They aren't looking in the best shape now a days for only being restored a few years prior. Not photographed are two 2001-DCs,-130 on the outside of town and a thunderbolt by the Mcdonalds on the east side. All in all still pretty cool.

Nice pictues! Nice to see a town restore their sirens instead of replacing them. The GCS Model 2 is acually a Darley Model 2.

That STL looks really awesome, not too many restored yellow ones around.

Unfortunately the STL is only a restored shell. The motor was removed and installed in a siren for the city warning system. Still a very nice job and better than being scrapped though.
