Houses have 240v service available through the breaker panel and the dryer outlet(i think the rating for these outlets is 20 amps). These will run on 110v, they just draw a bit more power and won't reach full speed of course.
Down to a Thunderbolt chopper, still a few goofy flashlight-siren combos, and a Model L.

You could get a step-up transformer, for a fast and versatile approach. All you need to know is wattage (W=VA) and it will run fine, as I use one for my Model J. (I would recommend the Goldsource STU series)
Proud owner of a prototype Denver (or something like that), Fedelcode Mach. 3 (dual rotor), Model 2, 4 A’s, B9W, 2 D’s, J, RX, 76A, Interstate Machines F, W.A. Box BOXCO, Sparton 35, & Darley C987

Ooh, thanks! My house apparently has a 240v at my dryer, and my stove, thanks for the information, now siren voltage won't be AS much as a issue when buying, knowing there is a 240v in my house :innocent:
I own: One complete SiraTone, another SiraTone control module, a 1600W MC, 2 old ATI controllers, 2 round ATI horns with drivers, a ATI-DSA 4 thing, a Federal Signal FC, AR timer and Siratrol, and a small CD&F.

In picture 0053, where do the two purple wires terminated at points 1 and 3 in the 8npin base for the 12vdc relay go to? (Relay on the left) Also.in the same picture, was the toggle switch on the side of the box purposed as a hand-off-auto?
