The 1980's TV miniseries, The Winds of War, featured dubbed-in siren sounds of stock British sirens and also 4th-interval sirens that I suspect were part of Los Angeles' then-operating siren system.

Back then in the 60's there was caution of air raid attacks, especially in large city's. The civil defense would set of these sirens not only for a test, but for drills at workplaces, schools, etc.
