Unknown siren in Otis, Colorado

Thu Dec 17, 2015 11:19 pm

I was on Google maps, looking at their Sterling M-10, and I found a siren at Washington St. & E 5th Ave. I can't get close enough to see what the model is.
I was also looking at Akron, CO but I was unable to see if they have sirens. Eckley CO has a FS 2001.
Can anyone help?

It looks kinda like an un-shrouded Model 2 to me. Is this the one you are talking about?

Yes indeed it is! That's what I was thinking as well, but it was too distorted of a picture for me to tell.

I posted the same siren in the mystery sirens thread. Dave Fritz identified it as a Sentry 3v8 minus the skirt.

Akron has two sirens that i know of. One is a rotating Whelen near the 5th and Birch vicinity by the baseball field, and one is on cedar by the tracks mounted on a grain elevator. It appears to be a Federal model 3/5. I have a picture of that siren on the "highest mounted siren" thread. Hope this helps.
