Indianapolis Sirens
In case anybody is interested in recording a siren here in Indy, here is some info about our sirens: The sirens are tested on the first Friday of the month at 11:00 EST for 50 seconds of Alert. During a Tornado Warning, the sirens are sounded for 3 minutes of Alert. Indy upgraded its entire siren system back in 2009. The old system consisted of many Thunderbolt 1000Ts (4 confirmed), Thunderbolt 1003s (Possibly 1 confirmed), 2 SD-10s (not confirmed), a Model 2 (not confirmed), Model 5s (3 confirmed), several older 2001s (at least 8 confirmed), and an INSANE amount of Dead Zones. (at least 9,000,000,000,000,000 confirmed) The system now holds 268 2001 sirens. The majority are 130s and SRNs with quite a few DCs and two SNERBs.

Not to take over the job of our moderator's (who are doing a great job, by the way), but we really are trying to keep this a professional-looking website. There are people on this board who actually work for siren companies like Whelen, and I think ASC, and maybe a few others. There are also users on this board that work for emergency management agencies. We like to keep them on the board because they are great sources of information. The less professional-looking the board looks, the less appealing it will start to look.
