No, but I do know a user in the past got a gas Mobil Directo from Culver City, CA. I remember in the old topic he said he was going to restore it. Not sure what happened to him though.

All gasoline Mobil Directos were withdrawn around 1960 except for the few allowed to rot away on their mounting posts. The videos on Youtube show the electric sirens, either original or converted from gasoline.

The only known gasoline Mobil Directo in private ownership belongs to hemijoe and it came from Milwaukee, WI. It still needs a top horn and neck.

Are the gasoline Mobil Directos in Culver City still rotting away on rooftops/poles or were they taken down and scrapped? Also is the one in private possession in operating condition?

Some of Culver City's sirens are still in place, unless they were removed within the last year.

HemiJoe's siren is not in operating condition. First job is getting the cosmetics done.

Ah, I see. I hope he gets to restore it soon, because if he does, he'll be the owner of the only operational gas-powered Mobil Directo in the world! :D

This was an awesome read on the Mobil Directos. Certainly alot of information on them I never knew before! I'd like to have seen these in Australia but none never made it out here.
