Why do you guys hate 2001's so much?!?

I am just bored of them, there is just too many replacing all the cool and old sirens, but in all respect, they are more powerful Also , louder, and have more coverage. Also, I have no problem with Whelen, it is just another siren brand, that makes great sirens, and ATI is trash(sometimes I wonder if it is the same ATI that made GPU's before AMD bought it..). But back to , they are good, effective, cost friendly. There is just a lot of them, making us siren enthusiast bored

"More powerful"... Ehhh... I would go with newer and... Louder and more coverage... I still say newer... Lol Personally I like sirens but good, Effective, Somewhat cost friendly and loud enough is what I would give them... The equinox and 508 would be an option I would probably choose mainly because the tone doesn't diminish as rapidly. This is just from my personal experience I am not trying to blab away at something but just from what I have seen the s do their job but they aren't what the :TBolt: s, 508s, and equinox... (Right? The equinox is the 2001 130 with the lower pitched rotor or am I thinking of the eclipse?) are.

You are correct. The Equinox is a lower pitched 2001-130, the eclipse on the other hand is an omnidirectional siren made by federal signal.

This is ambiance of them. The higher pitched sirens are Whelen 2008s or 2016s with UVs set to run lower pitched than the normal 850 Hz. They may not be as loud as a 2001, but they do seem to propagate much better than their 12 port counterpart. Those UVs though, I'm liking the pitch they have them set to.

I'm now guessing it might be because they're everywhere. I went on a trip from St. Paul to Hastings, and I saw about 15 sirens. 3 2001-130s, 9 2001 SRNs, 2 ASC tempest 135 (new siren to me!), and a modulator.

2001s are actually my favorite siren! Sure, some of them can be annoyingly high pitched sometime, but they can be heard from 2-5 miles away, and they sound EPIC at a distance. Also, the 2001 siren is equipped with battery backup, so it can run off of batteries if the power ever goes off during a tornado warning

I do too but not 's. They're underrated in my opinion and the 12 port pitch is a killer and 508's have as much coverage than 's
