Removing Shaft Keys From Sterling Rotor.

Tue Mar 15, 2016 7:28 pm

I recently got myself a Sterling M-5. The shaft keys holding the rotors on are heavily corroded and they are unbelievably tight. Am i screwed, or is there still hope in removing these without destroying the siren?
Down to a Thunderbolt chopper, still a few goofy flashlight-siren combos, and a Model L.

Your best bet would be to heat up the center of the choppers so the aluminum expands to the point to which they can be slid out. Whenever I can't get a chopper off, I take it to a motor shop and that's what they do.
