The FD in Halesite LINY, also has a strobe on top of their SD10.

I believe on the LIFA site there is another siren (STH10) with a strobe on it..I've forgot which county though.
As said above I always assumed they were to alert somebody below or close to the siren to make sure to cover their ears that its about to go off.

Well, it is rescue business -- in case of an emergency, firefighters get both visual and audible signals.

The rotating light is actually to let people who didn't hear the siren/pager know that there is a fire call. In other words, Firefighter Jon Q. Public is driving to the grocery store... he doesn't have his pager with him and he isn't close enough to hear the siren. As he approaches the firehouse though, he sees the roof beacon on... so he stops in... gets on the truck and saves the day. Fine... so that may be exagerated... but you get the idea.

There is no VFD.

Barrington is too rich to have a VFD, its all paid.. :P


They have a pretty fancy Fire Station too :shock: Its unbelievable.. :shock:

Ah yes, i remember the T-135s. I have pictures of 2 of them.

They really don't seem that big, but I barely ever see any besides T-135s and a T-128 (Pictures of that too)
