O'fallon Mo siren malfunction

Hello,
last Friday during the live stream a siren off of feise road in front of the elementary school. It was doing a Hi-Low tone. I rode my bike down there and it was being worked on. They said it wont shut off so we waited 5 minutes till they shut the power down to the siren. What do you guys think happened to this siren.

What type of siren is it? More than likely it's a radio malfunction, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

It sounds to me like a radio malfunction, but again I say correct me if i'm wrong.

More than likely a miscommunication between the transmitter and receiver in the siren. We have had that happen a few times in the past. That is why it's critical to have people out there during monthly tests to observe and inspect the sirens.

Sounds like a ribbon cable problem to me. It seems to be a somewhat common problem with that type of siren. I've heard of them shorting out before and causing the siren to randomly start going off. (Often times in Hi-Lo) They won't stop going off until somebody either disconnects the siren, or unplugs the ribbon cable. That would explain why it wouldn't shut off.

That siren is located off of mexico road in front of fort zumwalt south high school
