Yep apparently so. It was a small town back then.

Sorry for the bump, but this is relevant and interesting.

I happened to be passing through Wichita today, which is also the 25th anniversary of the 91 Andover tornado. I knew of 4 filming locations in the area I could stop at and was successful at 2 of the locations; Terradyne in Andover and E. 50th St. In S. Wichita. Below are the "then and now" pictures.

E. 50th St. S., S. Wichita, KS

I had a house where 1 video was taken on Second St. In Andover, however, I couldn't get anyone to answer the door. Another spot was at the interchange on E. 47th St. at 135 in S. Wichita, but never had a chance to stop.

Wow that is pretty cool man. Still looks kind of the same even after 25 years. In the 1st photo from 1991 you can see a gas station. In the 2nd one you can just barley see it behind the trees.

Hey guys I was searching around for a siren map of Wichita KS and I found the Thunderbolt that you can hear in this video at 5:57. Here is the link to the Google Maps view. https://www.google.com/maps/@37.6075557 ... 312!8i6656 . What got me confused was a person who made a siren map of Wichita listed this Thunderbolt as a 1000A. But after looking on Google Maps I understood why. I saw that the chopper cap was a different color then the rest of the siren. So they most likely replaced the dual tone chopper and made it into a 1000.

*Edit* Just as a bonus here is a video of the monstrous EF5 ripping through Andover KS. Filmed by Duke Evans.

That thunderbolt you shared is actually close to where the 50th St tornado video was taken and not really near Andover at all. The siren heard in the Haysville to Andover video was a 1003 behind Tomorrow's Memories on Central Ave. Unfortunately, both Thunderbolts are gone as I drove by both locations yesterday.
