How many counties still use thunderbolts?

Jackson Co MI still has 2. 1 is downtown (seems like it has faced east forever) on the Courthouse it replaced a broken Chrysler in 1982. The second one is on a Round Lake (Skyline Dr.) which I believe has been around since the 60's and had the rotator disabled plus some odd baffle was bulit on poles with plywood about 5 feet away from the projector becuse it scared the cows according to local neighboorhood folks. I don't think that one works at all, it's looked pertty rough for the last 10 years. In the summer you can't see it for the weeds and tree that has grown around it. I'll try to post a pick of that in a couple of weeks.

The number of Jackson, MI sirens in the city and townships (out county) are about 32 or so 2001's, 3 Whelens, and 3 model 5's last I knew.

I'm new to the board. My first t-bolt experince was in 1966 when the city I grew up in put one up on the school playground. Too bad the t-bolts are on the decline. They are my favorite.

There's a thunderbeam behind the Delhi Fire Station at the corner of Greenwell & Delhi Ave.

I really need to find time to do a siren hunt in the southwestern part of the county. There are a ton of interesting sirens in that area.

These are all in Michigan, for those who didn't know. There is also one in Grand Rapids, in Kent County, one in Kalamazoo, and one in Portage, in Kalamazoo County. There is also one in Dansville. They are all 1000s or 1000Ts. There is also a 1003 in Otsego,in Allegan County. There is also a 1000 or 1000T in Mendon, in St. Joseph County. These are not too hard to find, even in country full of 2001's.

As of my last drive through the city on Friday, Jefferson County Kentucky (Louisville) still has 29. Twenty-seven are 1000T's (two are 4/5's), and one is a 1000.

All 12 that I know of in Dane County, WI were replaced. Fort Atkinson in Jefferson County still has a 1003 I think.

Auburn Indiana in DeKalb County has four 1003's, the neaby town of Garrett used to have one until a little over 10 years ago I'd say, when it was replaced by a T-128.

I know in Atkins, AR, about 10 minutes east of me, they have 4 1000's that I know of currently. Supposedly there are 2 more but I haven't found them yet. I know they are on their way out to be replaced by more sirens, but they haven't disappeared yet so I don't know what's going on with them.
I think Thunderbolts used to be prominent here years and years ago, but they have been replaced with a bunch of Whelen 2900's and ATI HPSS32's since the remaining T-Bolts don't seem to be in the best condition.
(One of them took the term "go green" too seriously and has become one with a bunch of vines on the controls and blower box.)
