How many counties still use thunderbolts?

Ellis County, Texas, uses five or six, all in Ennis. Potter County (Amarillo) uses theirs, although they're being replaced. There's a few others I don't recall...

My Town in Jackson county IL still has thunderbolts. In fact in the last couple of years the existing ones have been refurbished and a new one installed.

Outagamie County, Wisconsin used to be a Thunderbolt haven. They had several 1000Ts installed around 1963. Unfortunately most of these have been replaced with Tempest sirens however there are a couple 1000Ts left over. One is on the Fox Valley Tech College, abandoned and unable to run. An operating 1000T can be found in New London, Wisconsin on the fire department building. It replaced an STH-10.

There are several counties here in Missouri that still use them. Greene county, Stone county, etc use them. They are located in Willard, Republic, Ash Grove, Bois D' Arc, Strafford, Kimberling City, Monett, Marionville, Crane and Fair Grove. Totaling up to about 17 Thunderbolts in those counties alone. There are some more that I know of in Lawrence and Barry counties as well. Most are 1000T's, but there are a few 1000's and 1003's in the mix.

Walker County in Alabama put up a 1003 after their Model 2 was blown away in the Super Outbreak tornado in 1974. From 1976 or 1977 it was in use until a guy wire broke and it fell over in a storm in 2011. Now she's in my shop getting a make over and soon will be in service at my house.
Every boy needs a Thunderbolt. Even if they are 54 years old. Plan to get a radio that picks up the siren frequencies and tone and duplex the signal to mine. Then the county can run it for me. Got to love Alabama. Stuff like that is perfectly legal.
And we'll still have one in service!

There are still quite a bit of T-bolts around central Alabama that aren't getting replaced anytime soon as far as I know.

I can contribute for Georgia:

Chatham Co. (Savannah): Used to have thunderbolts but are all gone. One can famously (or infamously) be seen in the intro to Forrest Gump.
Bibb Co (Macon): Used to have thunderbolts, most, if not all are now gone. I'll let Jeb or Ian chime on on Bibb Co. I do know some bits and pieces here and there are left of the old system
Muscogee Co (Columbus): Used to have thunderbolts along with SD-10s. All gone now
DeKalb Co: Used to have thunderbolts, all but one head was removed. The county interestingly only took the siren pieces and left the poles with blower pipes on them, some even still hooked up to power.
Atlanta/Fulton Co: Had some along with Mobil-Directos and one Altec-Lansing setup during the Cold War days. One Thunderbolt is left.
Cobb Co: Had tons of thunderbolts. However. today only 2 are left, both inactive.
Clayton Co: 3 refurbished 1000s in Jonesboro
Upson Co: 6 or 7 (lost track) refurbished Thunderbolts in service
Gwinnett Co: To my understanding Lawrenceville had Thunderbolts at one point because I saw the blower and controls to a Thunderbolt in a Snow Jam '82 news segment that was filmed on Scenic Hwy. near downtown Lawrenceville.
Clarke Co: (Athens): Used to have Thunderbolts. One pole remains
Statesboro (Bulloch Co): Allegedly used to have a system of them. One is left
Robins AFB (Warner Robins, Houston Co.): Has thunderbolts, all decommissioned and replaced with DSAs and modulators

As far as I know, in Kendall County, IL there is one Thunderbolt 1000AT in Newark (active), Thunderbolt 1000AT supposedly in Plano, and two Thunderbolt 1000AT's in Sandwich (both active). However, one of their Thunderbolts failed on me two years ago, but when I came back to hear the Thunderbeam, I heard it roar to life. Sadly, the area that I live in is mainly ACA/ASC/newer Federal country (not that I'm complaining!)
