Is that what can be seen in the video with the damper open?
Yes, you should be able to see a wire as I described. If the videos aren't HD it might not be visible.
Nice to see my photo there. :P

Just to throw this out there...I remember a big stink over what that thing even was. Interesting that it ended up being something that odd...

I'd love to hear it in action. I think it could still be active.
I didn't know where the photo came from as the Google document it was part of didn't load correctly.
If it's still active, it would be worth recording.

Oh, the 10/12 Banshee is long gone. Twas in Mason City, IL. I heard it was super sick in its last few years of life.

Mason City, Iowa - the poor siren had a burnt out motor and never ran up to full speed when it was observed by Troy years ago. It, along with the Allertors, were sold off at auction upon removal but I do not know who got them.

I have another one:
On several posts and youtube comments, they say that the Allertor was also made in a 25 HP model. These sirens looked slightly different according to the comments. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

No, the Allertor was only made in 10 and 15 HP variants- this is a myth that was stemmed from the "Jumbo Allertor" that was in Hoffman Estates, IL. It turned out to be an 8 port Allertor with a 15 hp allertor, basically a P-15 with an Allertor shroud.

FYI, don't believe everything you see on youtube, there is a lot of misinformation spread there.

No, but IIRC the gas Mobil directo had a 25 HP engine.
