Frankston TX, Possible Denver Siren Mount?

Sat Oct 22, 2016 11:55 pm

I've been meaning to post this, but next to the FD building in Frankston, there's a double pole mount with a windsock on it. It's been years since I could've possibly seen whatever system they had before their Sentries, and then, I was too young to know what siren was there. Here's a streetview link.

It could've been any number of things. A lot of sirens have been used on dual pole mounts. A denver may not be out of the question though.

It wasn't there in 08 according to streetview.

We may be onto something here.

Also, there's a new Modulator next to Splash Kingdom in canton, off of I-20. It's been put up on some. Construction site.

If anything that was most likely where an M-10 was. Those were extremely popular sirens here, especially in East TX.

Oh, yeah. I've seen them in Rusk, Lindale, and even malakoff.

Several years ago Rusk Fire Dept. used to sound their siren at high noon everyday.
