Siren Graveyard in Georgia

Tue Dec 06, 2016 1:16 am

Hello members of ARS. Just wanted to know, does anyone know where the sirens in Georgia go after being replaced? Do they go to a scrapyard? And if so, where? Does anyone know?
Thanks,
Nick

Graveyard? In Georgia? That's a good one. Finding one here honestly is comparable to finding a snowball in hell.

To stop being a (you know what), there's Jebs house, and there was one in Cobb where some old Tbolt stuff was allegedly. However, that is or was merely a rumour. I heard either they got sold to Carroll Co. or scrapped. I wouldn't be surprised if the latter is correct.

Haven't we already cracked down on people asking about siren graveyards in the past?

Siren graveyards seem to be sort of rare these days anyway. Especially since a lot of counties are phasing them out. From what I have seen they either send them to facilities that can use the parts (jebs house and wss are perfect examples), get sold or even just plainly get restored. And usually you see them over at a public works place or something similar. If there is a siren gy, they would most likely at some point hold an auction for all the sirens there.
Own and love a Thunderbolt 1000 and a Model 5.

I have many hobbies and interests. And I love them all.

I'm pretty sure they would go to Jeb's house because his company installs and uninstalls the sirens, Other than that as far as I know you could go to WSS.

In my experience of online hunting and seeing in person, in smaller towns, you may see a siren or few on the ground. For example, Mustang OK's new -130's were stored behind the FD(and a 508 for Hydro OK) before being installed. After the old R4's were taken down, they were installed behind the department. Rumor has it the Vortex's went to Union city. Another thing is a person on Skype pointed out to me next to the FD in dibble is 3 T128's and 2 SD-10's(considering it was a 3 year old street view, I'm assuming they are all gone now). I also saw another one with a couple of 2T22's on poles in streetviews at one of the locations at a fire station on the OK siren map(I forgot where).

Tl;dr I find fire stations being the most common places for sirens on the ground.
I own: One complete SiraTone, another SiraTone control module, a 1600W MC, 2 old ATI controllers, 2 round ATI horns with drivers, a ATI-DSA 4 thing, a Federal Signal FC, AR timer and Siratrol, and a small CD&F.
