I got the chance on our way back from St Pete to stop by Alachua and take some photos of the siren in question, which I can now confirm is an old single phase 8-port Darley 3V8. Just as I suspected from the street view imagery of it, the siren has sadly long since been disconnected from the service drop that is attached to the pole, however everything associated with it is still intact and in fairly decent condition for its age.murrfarms wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2017 10:58 pmI'll make an effort to stop by there tomorrow on our way down to St Pete and take some photos of it since it's not even 5 minutes off of I-75. That should help to clear up any speculation as to what it is.Thundercode wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2017 6:11 pmHave absolutely no clue on this one, Alachua, FL.
It appears it used to have a housing, looks very weird and different from a distance, Chopper looks similar to that of a Model 2, but a Model X would not have so much stuff on it. Am absolutely baffled. It also appears to possibly have a second chopper on top, cannot tell too well, but, I have to see what you all think on this one.
