San Angelo, Texas to retire sirens (....eventually)

Thu Jun 29, 2017 4:59 am

City website says they're still up, but this article seems to imply they'll be retired soon.

They have Allertors, a P-50, 3 Thunderbolts (one of which might be a 4/5), a 2t22 in Christoval, a few P-15s and two T-128s.

It says it flat out in the second paragraph that they will retire them, the thing that frustrates me too is that it also says that if they remove them they are going to be scraped.
I hope someone on this forum could reach out and make them realize that auctioning would get them more money. It would also be nice if they could parallel the system with the new one however they already seem to have made up their mind.

Conseidering the sirens are still online, I don't think it would hurt anything to send an email explaining how sirens are only one part of a complete warning system...but I don't know if i have the guts to do it.
