San Clemente Annual SONGS Community Alert Siren Test

Here are today's pictures.

First is the message signs along the freeways in the area announcing the test . They got it right this year and had the signs closest to the Capistrano, Dana Pt, and San Clemente areas displaying the test message. Last year, all the signs going as far north as Mission Viejo were displaying "Siren Test"



I also got a clear picture of the Thunderbolt 1000 at the north side of the power plant. Unfortunately, it was not sounded.

(HUGE thread bump) ,but the Thunderbolt is actually a 1003 ,they are not tied into the system of Whelens ,It is an evacuation siren for the plant. They test it when they do evacuation drills at the plant I believe every year.
