Yeah, I know that Wood River has a T-bolt still at the Roundhouse recreation place and also one at one of the city utility/water department buildings near a water tower. Madison and St. Clair Counties have a lot of sirens, both old and new. I've pretty much exhaustedly searches those areas. I always did wonder where that YouTube Wood River video was from though.

Yeah, I was surprised I found as many as I did in those rural areas where my pics came from. I'm thinking about taping nearby Collinsville's Modulator. Everyone knows bout St. Louis County's Whelen-fest, but I found a list that you might have seen of St. Charles County's siren list which includes type and location of all. I could literally pick one and video it, although there's nothing we haven't seen, but still interesting.

Vortexofmisery, welcome! I live in St. Charles County. Nice to have another St. Louis area siren enthusiast on board! :D

That St. Charles County siren list that you mentioned has not been updated in several years, unfortunately. Yes, we do have lots of Whelens out here; in fact I live about 1/4 of a mile from an O'Fallon siren, a Whelen WPS-2806, which can be seen from my kitchen window. Very loud from here!

Hey, why didn't you snap a pic of East Alton's 2T22? I just saw that last night while passing through going to a FOOLS meeting in Wood River (at the Franchise Bar). In fact I saw one of the 4003's, there on Edwardsville Rd., going to the meeting. I remember seeing Wood River's T-Bolt years ago when one was located near the fire station.

Again, welcome!

Thanks for the welcome! I'd be happy to snap a pic of that 2T22, although I've never seen it (or noticed it). Do you know where it's located or any landmarks that are close to it? I know in East Alton there is a Whelen by the municipal building.

Vortexofmisery, I just remember seeing it off to my left, as I was driving along St. Louis Avenue (I think it was St. Louis Avenue and not Broadway anymore) as I was headed toward Wood River. It was mounted on a low tower, next to a small red building. It was CD yellow, so I'm assuming it was a tornado/air raid siren and not a fire siren.

I had a busy day today around the area and of course had my camera with me, once again.

If you go over to Collinsville near the Gateway Center, there's a Modulator near there, and it's leaning over some. Mounted to the rear of Collinsville's police station is a Federal STH-10.

One big bump here, but my old lady plays softball at the bar where that GCS Model 5 is located at. I got a chance to talk to the owner about it and it came from Staunton years ago, like in 2003 or 2004. He bought it an a city auction and had plans to rig it up and set it off every time someone would hit a home run. He's selling the bar now, and the siren is going along with it. The fin-back vortex on the Edwardsville city hall is gone too, just replaced by a newer vortex sometime in 08.
Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right.

You really should try to obtain the siren.
Whatever you do, don't push that big red button🔴!!!
