The old Ohio EMA siren page showed Lake County as being saturated with sirens because of the nuclear plant.

OSU Wooster apparently has 3 sirens but can't find them on Bing Maps. All the townships surrounding Wooster have sirens as well.

I've also been trying to locate the other Ashland sirens but I can only find that STL-10 by the Fairgrounds on the south side and I know they have more.

After looking for a while, the only other one I've been able to find besides that STL-10 at the fairgrounds, is a Thunderbolt atop the Ashland County Courthouse in downtown:

I read in a document from Ashland County that they were supposed to be upgrading the sirens in Ashland, Loudonville, and the other townships throughout the county, sometime back between 2007 and 2010. I haven't found anything new in any of the towns, but the satellite and (limited) street view imagery is pretty dated.

Yeah, I knew about the Thunderbolt in Ashland. I think they have a couple other STL-10's and that's what I've been trying to find.

I was in Loudonville last summer and the XT22 is still on top of the fire station. No sign of any new sirens.

Last time I was in Sullivan and Nova, I didn't find any sort of replacement. Although this was 2 years ago, so anything could of happened between then and now.

In an attempt to revive this thread for other users to feel free of adding their information, questions, and concerns regarding around the thread title, I would also like to add a few things/updates that have happened since the last post over a year or so ago that would be worth sharing.

-Columbiana County: Knox Twp. (The northwestern most township) resurrected 5 Allertors from the Shippingport Harbor Nuclear Plant and were slowly put up and in which the system is done and ready. All feature a nice refurbished look complemented by bright safety yellow and with the word KNOX on both sides of the back shroud covering the gears. They are 9/12 models.

-Within the past few months, residents of Westlake (West of Cleveland) are heated up because of the lack of a outdoor warning system in favor of a text-based system: http://www.newsnet5.com/dpp/news/local_ ... ado-sirens

http://www.cleveland.com/westlake/index ... d_and.html

There are several more articles, but a simple Google search will do justice.

-Although it has been a few months since, the city of Salem has been trying to figure out solutions whether to fix or fund for replacements for their 2001-SRN and 612. Apparently both must have been struck by lightning during a summer storm. The sad thing is the other 612 (which completes the system) is still functioning but seems to be about to kick the bucket.

-AFAIK the Sullivan 3T22 is still up and in use as the most recent time seeing it was about a few months back passing along Rt. 224 to Rt. 58.

-Lastly, Several places including Montville Twp. (outside of Medina) and Creston have purchased several FS 508 units each within this past year.

Of course I probably did miss a few other stories or things, I'll turn over to anyone else who like to share or ask something!
