I would assume that any large track that host an event ( NASCAR, ARCA, Indy Car, IMSA ,SCCA, etc. etc.) is going to have some sort of system in place ...think Modulators... for mass communication/warning. As far as other types of sirens, I am sure that there has been or still is sirens near or adjacent to race tracks. An example would be a dirt track located at any county fairgrounds in any where U.S.A .... a siren used for Tornado warnings could easily be located on county property or perhaps in an adjacent neighbor hood to the fair grounds.
Most tracks built in the last 40 years ...from Saturday night 1/4 bull rings to a super speedway... are built in less populated areas due to noise, dust in its a dirt track and traffic. As we all are aware, you just don't find many sirens in a sparsely populated area.
I grew up about 6 blocks from the Shawnee County fairgrounds 1/2 mile dirt rack, which was more or less in the middle of the city until it was tore down in 1981. There where at least 3 or 4 Thunderbolts that could have easily been heard at the fairgrounds.
I think that there is some sort of warning system at Heartland Park (drag strip, dirt track) on because it is adjacent to Forbes field.... Ks. Army Air National Guard 190th air refueling wing along with other business' and offices .
