Complete Putnam County, TN Tornado Siren Map.

Tue Feb 12, 2019 6:02 pm

This is a map of every siren in Putnam County, TN. I made this map, because Putnam County is usually over-looked when it comes to sirens. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit? ... sp=sharing

That WS1000 isn't a siren. It's a church bell.

Well I actually thought the same, but the EMA director said it is indeed used for Tornado Warnings. He also said it is mainly used as a backup, because the Model 5A will not go off if there is a power outage.

Monterey's second siren is an STH-10 on Commercial Ave. just south of Elmore Street.

Wow, I was just right up the road from that siren taking pictures of the crossing there and never even saw it. But then again, from where I was, it wouldn't have been all that noticeable unless I was actively looking for it, it appears.

Same here. I was looking across town for the STH-10. I don't know why they are so close, considering how loud they are.
