Its housing looks different than what I usually see on a Darley 3V8. Looks like it has the top of a Sterling K-5 or 2V8 siren, versus a cone hood. Any info about this difference?

It is strange. The legs and motor definitely say 3V8. I wonder if it's just a custom fix-up job?
