I don't think this is a Sterling M-3. The intake seems too large. Possibly Hedberg?

I'm not sure what that thing is but it doesn't look much like a siren. There's a bell hanging down, I wonder if it's some kind of ringing mechanism or something. Just postulating. Never seen a rig like that before.

That's 100% an M-3 and it doesn't look unusual to me besides missing the louvres on the intake. The stator hood (chopper cover) is typical of the M-3, not right for a B.
EDIT: I have learned that none of the above is correct.

That's 100% an M-3 and it doesn't look unusual to me besides missing the louvres on the intake. The stator hood (chopper cover) is typical of the M-3, not right for a B.

It's a Model B. They came in three styles, with that being one of them. Here's another example. You can tell it's a B because the stator and flair on the end are both one piece.

We really, REALLY need a "common misconceptions" pinned thread. I've been on this forum for close to two years and still didn't know that distinction. Not to mention the "N-5" thing which I was repeating for months before someone corrected me on that.

It looks like it's up on a wooden pole, so I doubt it.

I think that may be a rusty pipe for a woodstove or ventilation and such.

It looks extremely large to be some kind of chimney vent, and if that were a metal exhaust pipe it looks like that would be a lot of weight for it to carry. Not to mention it wouldn't need to be anywhere near that long and tall.

I bet I know what that is, it's part of a woodstove. They make these very very tall so that they dont get carbon on the roof, since they can leave embers on the shingles if they are too close to them. Woodstove pipes are also very thick around.

Actually, I heard someone describe a siren that fit this one's description. It was made by British General, I believe.
