Another Fantasy Siren Map Challenge

I've noticed that there have not been very many challenges like this in recent months, and since I've been planning something like this for a while now, I figured I'd polish up my ideas and submit my version of the Fantasy Siren Map Challenge.

[*]The rules will be outlined in each challenge's information sheet. Participants must abide by the rules, otherwise their map may be disqualified.

[*]Exceptions to the rules will only be granted if a user gives a specific reason why they should be granted an exception, and it makes sense in accordance to the challenge's information sheet.

[*]Participants will have one week from the start date to submit their map. The results will be announced shortly after the completion date.

The year is 2015. Benzie County, Michigan would like to implement an Emergency Warning Siren Network. Their budget only allows for 20 new sirens. They would like them to be capable of both tone and voice modes, and be rotational. There must be a siren around each large population center. Existing sirens may be connected to the new siren if deemed necessary. Crystal Mountain Resort has also requested that a siren be placed on their grounds in a central area.

All submissions must be turned in on January 17, 2021 by 11:59:59 PM Eastern Standard Time. With that, let's start!

Siren Enterprises System

Siren Enterprises offered to install a large system of EVA sirens. These were all installed by a (fictional) company named Siren Enterprises based out of the Marshfield Missouri Area. The dealer responsible for installations was Huron Safety Systems LLC (Fictional) based out of Alpena Michigan. The old WPS-2903 in the county and the GCS were removed for no extra cost to the county with the GCS ending up in the Huron Safety Systems resale yard awaiting remanufacturing and reinstallation while the 2903 was scrapped. Meanwhile the county wide system of 20 sirens was installed with EVA-402, EVA-612 and EVA-816s being installed. The sirens were made out of stainless steel with CD yellow weather protective paint applied over the head for extra protection. The sirens are all installed on high quality wood or steel poles with bullet proof and break in proof stainless steel controllers and radios, along with lightning rods and strobe lights mounted on the sirens for no extra cost. The sirens are all equipped with lasting battery backup and solar panels. Maintaining the sirens to replace drivers is also easy with the siren able to be maintained without being removed from the pole. The sirens have 360 degree rotation and are made out of very high quality parts. The 402 is the smallest of the series, with the 612 being the middle and the 816 being the largest. The sirens are dual toned with a multitude of signals available and are all lower pitched to achieve longer range sound coverage. The EVA-816 is rated at 134 Decibels at 100ft, the EVA-612 is rated 126.5 Decibels at 100ft, and the EVA-402 is rated 119.5 Decibels at 100ft. The system map is linked below.

As far as I know the only rotational, voice capable sirens produced today are the 4000 series. Do the sirens absolutely positively have to be rotational?

I can grant an exception, I forgot that there was only the 4004.
However, this is 2015 in the scenario, so the ATI HPSS-16-R was still on the market at that point.

I can grant an exception, I forgot that there was only the 4004.
However, this is 2015 in the scenario, so the ATI HPSS-16-R was still on the market at that point.

Alright, that makes things a bit easier. I could probably make up a siren to add as well.
I may also add 4008s given to the county used.

Here's my submission. I went with ATI to mix it up a bit. Also, be sure to click on the sirens, some of them have descriptions.

They needed them to be capable of both tone and voice modes, and be rotational. They also wanted a siren around each large population center. Existing sirens were allowed to be connected to the new siren system if deemed necessary. Crystal Mountain Resort also requested that a siren be placed on their grounds in a central area.

ATI's bid for the system is displayed on this map. The system would consist of 20 of their HPSS-R series sirens, as well as one controller upgrade for the WPS-2903. In areas requiring more coverage, HPSS-32R's would be used instead of the less powerful HPSS-16R's. In the end, calculated costs for the system would be less than $500,000, a far cry from Whelen's bid.

The system would be fully tested bi-anually; once on the first of September, and once on the first of March. On these days it would go off in 3 minutes of Attack, followed by 3 minutes of Alert. Every other month, on the first, the system is tested in Westminster Chimes. All tests are at noon. Voice messaging is used before and after tests. The reason of such infrequent testing is because of the large amount of tourists in the area.

The system goes off in 3 minutes of Attack for all emergencies, and goes off in 3 minutes of Alert for an all-clear. Voice is used in both of these situations. Sirens are also activated individually.

The Challenge has ended, and WPS4004Man's map is the winner! I quite like the placement of the sirens and the test schedule. Very well thought out.

The next challenge will be announced and start on Wednesday, January 20th.
