Re: The official and updated Missouri Statewide map

As I am a Missouri resident and recently discovered this (and just got my login figured out), I figured I ought to help out where I can.

1. Doniphan Mo, Model 2/5 pin is actually the Sterling 2V8. Haven't heard it go off in years but it does have power hookups running to it.
2. Naylor's Darley 2 is not longer there to my knowledge, but the Model 3 is still sitting on the former water tower pump house. Both definatley inactive as the OA-3 is the main siren. Also, the Private Thunderbolt on H-5 Highway outside of Naylor is mine :). Currently inactive as well.
3.Union's Model 5 pin is a correct location. I am unsure however if it stands currently. I last saw it around 2013/14. The Darley is inactive as well as the 5.
4. "Something" pin on Wild Horse Creek Rd. in Chesterfield is a former firehouse Model 2. I don't think it is still there, but it was. Saw its control setup in 2013 before the 2910 was installed however I think it was inactive even then.
5. The Model 5 in Wright City is no longer there, nor is the water tower. The Sentry remains.
6. Model 2 at the intersection of Hwy D and DD no longer exists.
7. Springfield's 2 SD-10's are known active as of 2016. STH failed me when I tried to record it in 2016, however with the notice in your descriptions that the 2001 that used to be near the STH has seemed to be moved, it is likely that it is used by the campus Emergency system again. The SD-10's should still be active as they are probably original to the buildings they are on.

That's all I can think of. Love the map, found a few cool things I did not know were out there. Hope my 2 cents help a bit.

Interestingly enough I actually used your Missouri siren map as a location reference for the Doniphan area, since there is no other source on that area. I actually called Ripley EMA and asked them about the sirens in Doniphan and the county, apparently the use a Whelen system for the county that was installed around 2013, and have 2 sirens from the 80s in Doniphan. Do you know of any more locations of these Ripley County Whelens in Ripley County, and where the Doniphan sirens are? (And if the 2V8 is part of the city system)

I am unsure if the 2V8 is part of the city system, but I forgot to put in my original post that it had been used as a Noon Whistle for ever and ever (unsure if this is still the case). The only other Whelen in the county system I can remember is the one under the water tower in Harviell, MO. Next to the Dollar General off US 67. Next time i'm in the area i'll have to pay attention and do some exploring in places like Neelyville and Doniphan.
(EDIT) I just noticed another one I need to fill you in on! In Troy MO, there is a ACA Screamer on top of City Hall at 201 Main St. Its nestled behind the spire and preforms a Noon Blast(current as of early 2020, should still be doing it). Plus in Winfield Mo, the Winfield VFD's old siren (Model 2) was at the intersection of Killam and E Walnut. I photographed that siren I think in 2010 or so and it was I think inactive.

You should create a google doc or something that you mark changes in. That way, it doesn't generate constant posts in this thread and it also keeps a record in document form. It wouldn't require a post on here every time the document was updated either. Just set it so anyone with the link can view.

Changelogs aren't as frequent anymore and that's how I keep the thread from getting buried so people can get to it faster. Also allows people to see the current updates.

You need to cut it out. You’re now just replying to yourself over and over again. If a thread dies it dies.
