Sirens doing reasonably odd tones

There's modulators in Sarnia, ON. in the rail yard that tests in whoop.

Find some more sirens that are doing odd tones that you've probably never heard. The tones can also be custom.

A while back, I saw a siren called a “Custer Electronic Siren”. It did a Fire (High-low) signal, but winded down and then did the signal instead of winding up. A strange siren to me.

Also, the siren is homemade from what I have heard. I don’t know if this is true, but I’ll take my guesses.

yes! I believe these use an old police/emergency vehicle siren box as their tone generator/amplifier. very simple but cheap, and reasonable for a town with an extremely small budget. the sirens are home-built as well.

Ahh, that makes sense. I saw one that broke down a while back too. But they do seem like decent sirens especially the number of installations of a Homemade siren as well!

Question… Do you know the Decibel Rating? It’s just a little thing that has been in my mind for a while since I cannot find anything of the decibels.

And that brings me to another question.

Can anyone see if Custer makes Siren Manuals? It would be cool if they had a full setup + manual system. Or does the purchaser just stick the siren on the pole and it’s installed?

The main bad thing with Modulators though is their sound difference between Cells. A 2 Cell model is at quite a differing decibel rate than a 4 Cell model. I’d say this as my opinion, but it isn’t really a negative thing considering how loud 8032B models can be.

Anyway, I’m getting off topic. I saw a Harry O. Rikki Siro Drone where it’s top Louver Bolt looked like it had come loose and was making a warbling sound as it spun!

I mean this is kinda a good / bad thing as it can penetrate walls better, but it could fall off at any moment!
