outdoor warning siren installers

Sat Feb 12, 2022 12:18 am

Is there a major nationwide company that installs sirens? I've googled companies and it only brings up news articles and community pages. How is one to go about applying for a position with a company that installs outdoor warning sirens?

Hmm, do you have a CDL? Are you over 21?? Do you have any training as a commercial electrician? Can you separate your siren hobby from your job?

If you can't honestly answer YES to EVERY one of these questions, you have work to do. Once you CAN answer YES to ALL these questions, you might have a shot.. But NOT before.

The biggest thing that Keith mentioned is being able to separate the siren hobby from the job of working on sirens. When I started Sheboygan Warning Systems I struggled with this and it lead to a few rough jobs due to myself caring about saving the siren too much. You have to be able to come to terms with some sirens needing to get replaced if you want to get into doing this as a part-time job or a career.

I am over 21, I do not possess a CDL and I have taken some courses in electrical. I don't have a journeymans license if that is a stipulation. As far as the hobby meets the career thing I can separate the two knowing that the job is in the best interest of the customer (municipality) rather than personal feelings towards equipment.
