My childhood hometown (Middleburg, VA) took down the Sentry 10V behind the town hall a few months back, because a new and bigger town hall is being built behind the old one. The siren has long been inactive. Originally it was going to be on display in the town museum across from the hall, but it was too big so that fell through. A guy I know in the community (we're both local musicians) has it and I saw he was selling it, so it's going to me! He and I are both glad that it's not suffering the same fate as the Allertor that was at the station in town (that was scrapped years ago). The Sentry was for EMS calls and the Allertor was for fire calls (it was installed by DC Civil Defense, as were all of the other Allertors and 'Bolts in the area). He's said he couldn't think of anyone he'd rather it went to, and of course I agree

. Being an enthusiast, and it's a siren from my hometown. I feel the same way as I did when I got my grandparents' Electrolux vacuums (which I also collect).
